Mid-Major Madness
Here we go again. The same old crap every year. I know it's fun to get some of these mid-major teams into the tourney, but here's the problem: Mid-Major conference championship upsets. Yes, my friends the Salukies blew it. They lost to their foes Northern Iowa and now the MVC is going to get two teams into the Tourney instead of the one that they deserve. Why is that bad? It's bad from the standpoint that at Team like Washington might get left out even though they just beat the number one team in the Country. It's bad that a good bubble team in the Big East, SEC, Big 12, etc... might be left out because a team from a weak conference has a good record and is somehow ranked in the top 25 despite playing NO ONE!

The first thing that needs to change is that we need to get the mid-major teams who are good consistently out of their crappy conferences and into a more competitive conference. For example Gonzaga absolutely needs to be in the PAC 10. I'd like to see them play Arizona, Stanford, UCLA, and Oregon twice a year and still only have two losses. My guess is that they would be left out of the tourney more times than not.

Thankfully, PC is in the tourney regardless of how their season ends. Otherwise, this rant would be more of a tirade.
