you might ask?
Let's take Creighton as an example. Last night, Creighton was 12 - 0 and Ranked #20 in the coaches poll and #24 in the AP poll. Seems like they should be ranked higher given their record. However, they play NOBODY. Creighton's strength of schedule is 181! After losing to the powerhouse N. Iowa Panthers last night, Creighton's RPI slipped to 35. So my question is... how does this team get ranked?? They play a Division 1 -AA schedule!
Because of their recent success (luck) in the Tourney they get all sorts of recognition. Five years ago, Creighton would have to have gone 20 - 0 before they would be considered for a top 25 ranking. Now they beat the likes of San Diego, Delaware State, Drake, etc... and they are somehow ranked in the top 25.
Providence College on the other hand with an RPI of 13 and strength of schedule of 9 has to scratch and claw to get into the top 25. Even their losses have come to teams with an RPI in the top 25.
I hate these mid-major schools. Creighton, Bradley, and even Gonzaga should try playing in a real conference like the Big Ten, ACC, SEC, Big East, etc...
Nothing made me happier than Gonzaga getting bounced in the second round of last year's tourney. It's a lot harder to beat good teams when you no longer sneak up on them!

Quotes taken out of context are a beautiful thing...
The Rocket accepting a hummer from Steinbrenner. Who would have thunk it? Not that there's anything wrong with that. To each their own.

"I could tell the fans were enjoying the last couple of pitches," Clemens said after the game.
"I think everybody started understanding that it was going to be my last inning or my last hitter or my last pitch. "It just kind of hits you a little bit, everything that's happened over your career. I was able to go in and sit in the office in there and reflect for about five minutes."
That reflection even extended to accepting a Hummer from George Steinbrenner as a goodbye present.

Well Yankees fans, you've been stung by a Rocket. How does it feel? Today has been a good day because everyone in NY now knows what it feels like to hate Roger Clemans. But, he's a smart man. He did say he was going to retire in Pinstripes. I guess those pinstripes will be part of Houston's home jersey instead of Yankee blue and white.
This New York Daily News article is an enjoyable read.

Ironically enough...

You're New Brunswick. You're a very easygoing
person. You're easy to please and not very
demanding. You're seldom the target of much
mockery or scorn.
When you are, it's never very serious. It's smooth
sailing for you.

I guess it makes sense since most of my family is from New Brunswick.

It cracks me up that there are people/teams/football players who think the Patriots are not as good as their record indicates.
Well, Zach Piller, you were just defeated by a team with a 15 - 2 record who beat you not just once, but twice this season. Do the math. The Patriots are good.

"I think that that team is not a very good team," said Titans guard Zach Piller. "It sickens me that we lost to them. I will not leave this stadium thinking we got beat by a better team."

Which Canadian Province are you?

I'm Nova Scotia. People have spread rumours
about me and I have suffered from
stereotyping. Few people take the time out to
get to know the real me. I hate labels. I
am patriotic and loyal.
